EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

Role of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board plays a central role in safeguarding the academic quality, scientific integrity, and ethical standards of the journal. Board members contribute to editorial decision-making, oversight of the peer review process, policy development, and the long-term scholarly direction of the journal.

Editorial Structure

The editorial structure of the journal includes the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board Members. Each role carries defined responsibilities to ensure efficient manuscript handling, transparent peer review, and consistent application of editorial policies.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are expected to:

1. Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope

2. Ensure that all submissions undergo a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process

3. Select qualified reviewers with appropriate subject expertise

4. Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts and editorial communications

5. Uphold the journal’s ethical policies and publication standards

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests, sponsorship, or personal relationships. Editors must ensure that academic integrity and scholarly value remain the primary considerations in all publication decisions.

Manuscript Handling and Decision-Making

Editors assess reviewer reports and make editorial decisions based on the quality of the manuscript and compliance with journal policies. Possible decisions include acceptance, revision, or rejection. The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the designated handling editor.

Ethical Oversight

Editors are responsible for identifying and addressing ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, improper authorship, and unethical research practices. Allegations of misconduct are investigated in accordance with recognized academic publishing standards.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest related to a manuscript. When a conflict is identified, the editor must recuse themselves from the editorial process, and the manuscript will be reassigned to another editor.

Confidentiality

All submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial correspondence are treated as confidential. Editors must not disclose or use unpublished material for personal or professional benefit.

Communication with Authors and Reviewers

Editors are responsible for maintaining professional, respectful, and constructive communication with authors and reviewers. Feedback should be clear, objective, and aimed at improving the scholarly quality of the manuscript.

Reviewer Oversight

Editors oversee the reviewer selection process, ensure timely completion of reviews, and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of reviewer reports. Editors may request additional reviews when necessary to support informed decision-making.

Quality Assurance

Editors play a crucial role in maintaining consistent editorial standards across all published content. This includes ensuring adherence to formatting requirements, ethical declarations, citation standards, and scientific rigour.

Policy Compliance

Editors are expected to be familiar with and adhere to the journal’s policies on peer review, publication ethics, plagiarism, copyright, and data protection. Editorial practices should align with accepted international standards in scholarly publishing.
